Journey to Mystic Beach
Mystic Beach, nestled within the Juan de Fuca Provincial Park, offers a 2km hike that is both enchanting and captivating. The trek is filled with lush greenery and notable landmarks, promising a hiking experience that beckons for repeated visits.
Starting the Hike
Your adventure begins at a parking lot, situated about 45 minutes from the beach. From there, head past the wooden sign and step into the forest. It's important to start on the Juan de Fuca trail, distinct from the China Beach route. The path, marked by frequent use, features various wooden boardwalks. Be mindful of the trail conditions, especially in wetter months, as it can get quite muddy.
Trail Landmarks
Suspension Bridge: Reaching this halfway point is a milestone. The bridge offers a moment of awe amidst the forest canopy.
Wooden Staircase Descent: After the bridge, a wooden staircase descends into a valley. You're getting closer to the beach with every step.
Final Stairs to Mystic Beach: Roughly 15 minutes past the staircase, more steps lead down, accompanied by the sound of ocean waves. This marks the transition from dense forest to the open expanse of Mystic Beach.
